To highlight this product benefit we distributed limited edition pillowcases alongside performa condoms at New Zealand's biggest annual sex expo, Erotica. As a result the Durex stand was inundated, increasing sales by 28%. The pillowcases proved such a hit with the guys that hundreds more were printed and sold in D.vice sex stores as a continuation of the promotion

Wow, I have to say that I have seen some pretty smart advertising in my day, but this DOES take the cake!! The whole idea behind it is pure brilliance. The effect is two-fold. You have the product that claims to make men last longer, and you have the pillow cases with unattractive figures to make sure that the men definitely last longer.

I think it's sick to make love to your girlfriend and have disgusting images just to make you last longer.
Or is it a symbol of your commitment to her? That you would go to such lengths to prolong her enjoyment shows you care.
oh people. it is a promotion. no one really expected people to really look at those images during sex. it is called "humor". ease up already

It's definitely not a joke, I recommend every man do so, think of their grandmother or an unattractive co-worker, they'll last longer without the need for fancy condoms.

this doesn't make any sense though. It's stating the same idea twice. Condoms have a numbing agent, so you last longer....then why do you need to look at something ugly if your twig and berries are already numb? I would see this as durex feels like nothing at all, so you have to think about something ugly, or look at something ugly to keep going.
I simply feel sorry for the guys that need that...

at first i didn't get it but then it hit me! wow..... disturbing and original.
I love it. I think it's fantastic advertising. I'm a communication/advertising major...I'm a female who loves comedy, and damn, I want some of these silly pillow cases to laugh at!!! LOVE IT!!!

maybe its the pillow or the condoms...you know? make your choice: why think of some ugly women when making love with a nice one?!?... when you could think/see her and "last" longer using the durex performa (just some idea :) )
Surely the point of advertising is to get people talking about the product, develop some interest, brand recognition and ultimately sell. Judging by the breadth of posts I think you could say they've done their job exceptionally well.
I think's it's a fun connection but the pillow should not work and should not SELL because we need the guy to think about us: the pretty girls and handsome guys, not a freak!!!!! So let's destroy the pillowwwwwcases for gooddddd....
