What’s the matter, dummy? Can’t you talk? United way is like a barrier. It keeps bad things away from good people. Like Heidi. She's not teased for her autism. Because Heidi can speak just fine, thanks to a speech-therapy program funded by United Way of Greenville County. Your gift could help someone just like her. Because it happens here, it matters here.

You’ll never amount to nothing, girl. Nobody from this neighborhood ever does. United Way is like a barrier. It keeps bad things away from good people. Like Zandra. Give and you’ll help other underprivileged kids in Greenville County achieve the same. Because it happens here, it matters here.

1. Pretty weak stuff for ...

Pretty weak stuff for a subject that has such fertile ground. Whomever did the United Way stuff last year where the hand from the logo is shielding people from various negative things (ie. covering the lid of a bottle of alcohol next to a drunk, or the hand from the logo covering the eyes of a boy standing next to his mother who'd been a victim of domestic violence) - that United Way work was incredible. This, sadly, seems like a second rate knock off of that fine concept from last year's United Way work.
